“Outstanding Wastewater Treatment Plant” Award

In 1995 the Washington State Department of Ecology created the “Outstanding Wastewater Treatment Plant” award to recognize treatment plants in Washington that achieved full compliance with its effluent limits, monitoring and reporting requirements, spill prevention planning, pretreatment, and other regulatory activities.

Since the creation of this award in 1995, only a small number of facilities out of approximately 305 wastewater treatment plants have been recognized, and only one other facility in Washington has received this award more often than Olympus Terrace Sewer District. The District’s staff has been commended by the Board of Commissioners for their professionalism, overall team effort, and continued dedication as the foundation of the District’s success in achieving this recognition.

Listed below are the years that the District has been awarded the “Outstanding Wastewater Treatment Plant” award, as well as the number of recipients for each awarded year.
