“Outstanding Wastewater
Treatment Plant” Award
In 1995 the Washington State Department of Ecology created
the “Outstanding Wastewater Treatment Plant” award to recognize
treatment plants in Washington that achieved full compliance with its
effluent limits, monitoring and reporting requirements, spill prevention
planning, pretreatment, and other regulatory activities.
Since the creation of this award in 1995, only a small
number of facilities out of approximately 305 wastewater treatment plants
have been recognized, and only one other facility in Washington has
received this award more often than Olympus Terrace Sewer District.
The District’s staff has been commended by the Board of Commissioners
for their professionalism, overall team effort, and continued dedication
as the foundation of the District’s success in achieving this
recognition.
Listed below are the years that the District has been
awarded the “Outstanding Wastewater Treatment Plant” award,
as well as the number of recipients for each awarded year.
