Washington State Auditor Congratulates
the District
The District recently received a letter of congratulations from Washington State Auditor Brian Sonntag. In the letter, dated March 18, 2005, Mr. Sonntag congratulates “ . . . the District’s commitment to accountability as demonstrated by 13 years without an audit finding.”
The letter was presented to the Board of Commissioners
at their March 30, 2005 Board meeting. In recognizing this honor, the
Commissioners took special note of the fact that few municipal agencies
are fortunate enough to have such an outstanding record and congratulated
the staff for their hard work. General Manager Patrick Sorensen added
that the District is privileged to have the expertise of its Finance
Manager, Sue Parks, who has been employed with the District for nearly
fourteen years. He credits the sound financial operations and management
of the ratepayers’ assets to her dedication, and attributes receiving
the recognition from the Auditor’s office to her ongoing efforts.
